Our Haven Behavioral Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona is looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to join their team.  As a member of the Executive Management Team, manages the Human Resources (HR) department and the provision of human resources services. Develops and maintains programs and best practices for recruitment, retention, benefit administration, compensation, employee relations, HR information systems and staff development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Team and on facility committees as requested. Interpret and implement corporate and facility personnel policies and processes.  Advise and assist management on HR issues. Administrator on Call as required.

  • Direct the implementation of HR programs and services. Conduct annual HR audit. Review and recommend HR policies, procedures and processes. Manage HR staff.

  • Establish and update facility wage and salary structure. Administer benefit plans. Implement annual staff development and training plan. Lead employee performance management program. Direct the employment process. Create annual employee recognition program.

  • Implement semi-annual “Staffing Effectiveness” program, reporting findings and implementing corrective action.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field, Master’s preferred
  • HR Certification (SHRM) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years progressive leadership and functional HR experience.
  • Knowledge of current employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and leadership skills
